We're not sure whether we're official yet or not, but if not, then this is officially the un-official blog of TEDxPune - 10/10/10!
(That's the 10th of October, 2010. Note to our American friends: It's in DD/MM/YY format)

Yes, I know.. :-)

Anyways, so.. Why have we created this blog?
It can be any of the following explanations:

1. We geeks go around creating blogs like rabbits spawning offspring at every single excuse we get. Besides, all the other such events keep blogs too and it's cool.
2. We want you to get to know the people behind TEDxPune 2010... their darkest secrets... their wildest passions...
3. We want to share the ongoing organizing activities at TEDxPune as well as all the ideas buzzing all around the websphere.

Coming to TEDxPune, here's the motto:

To inspire better cities and citizenship.

Of course, everybody wants to do that, but the big question is : How?

And that's where the Sharing of Ideas concept comes in : By hosting Talks on ideas put forth by speakers from across the spectrum of our cities - from newspapers to IT, from NGOs to educators. Each Idea will open up new doors in our minds - showing us never-seen-before ways to radically change our cities for the better! You will get to see the best minds get together and of course the best Ideas getting shared!

Outreach : We want to make sure that as many people as possible watch this event. TED and TEDx are all about sharing ideas with everyone. So, along with the main event, we're simultaneously web-casting the event at several educations institutions. You can see the list of confirmed institutes signed up here (Google maps link); This week we volunteers are going to go and get more colleges to take part! So keep watching that map!
